Dental Tooth Fractures can be very painful and are amongst the most difficult things to diagnosis in Dentistry. Dental Fractures can manifest themselves in many forms:
A This is a Crown Fracture as it has not progressed into the root area. These kinds of fractures can usually be address with a full coverage crown .
B This is a Crown Root Fracture as the fracture has partially extended into the dental root area.
C This is a Complete Crown Root Fracture. This type of fracture can be very painful on biting or chewing and usual results in the tooth being extracted.
D This is a Cusp Root Fracture. Depending on the extent of the fracture, these teeth can possibly be saved but might require addition procedures. If the tooth is not salvageable then they too might need to be extracted
E This is a Complete Root Fracture. These are very hard to diagnosis as they are deep inside the jaw bone. This type of fracture can only be addressed with an extraction if symptomatic
